Professor of Surgery and Texas A&M Physician

In addition to being a Texas A&M Physician, Suzanne Yandow, M.D., serves the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) College of Medicine as a Professor of Surgery.

As one of a handful of pediatric orthopedic surgeons specializing in oncology in the nation, Dr. Yandow is uniquely qualified to serve the special surgical needs of young patients especially when dealing with musculoskeletal issues like soft tissue lesions, bone cysts and tumors.

Dr. Yandow earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Alabama in 1979 and her medical degree from the University of South Florida in 1984. From 1984-1985, Dr. Yandow completed a General Surgery Internship, and from 1985-1989 she completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Utah where she served as Chief Resident from 1988-1989.

She then went on to complete an Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship in 1990 at the University of Florida, and in 1991 she served as a Dorothy and Bryant Edwards Fellow in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children in Dallas.

Among her many memberships in professional organizations, Dr. Yandow is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Orthopaedic Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association and the American Medical Association.

She was recently inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a professional medical organization that recognizes and advocates for excellence in scholarship and the highest ideals in the profession of medicine.

Dr. Yandow is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
